We went to Butterfly Wonderland for the first time yesterday! I was actually nervous about taking my youngest kiddos there, to be totally honest. I just thought my five and two year old would for SURE wreak some kind of havoc and end up murdering butterfly’s in the process of flailing about in tremendous fear of the winged creatures.
But the opposite happened.
I WAS THE ONE SCREAMING INSTEAD AND MY KIDS LOVED IT. (hahaha)
Isn’t that the truth?? Man alive. There were SO many butterflies! But it was AWESOME. My kids had an amazing time checking out the butterflies, experiencing them landing on us (this is where I was doing the screaming) and learning about how they live and their life cycles. We also were able to touch sting rays, check out some desert bugs, more fish and eat at a great snack bar.
And my five year old keeps talking about the 3-D movie we watched before we went into the exhibit all about butterflies. HA.
It was an awesome day! If you’re in the area and able to go check it out, do it! They also have an huge aquarium that is scheduled to open just next door this summer! It’s obviously not complete yet, but it looks like it’s going to be an amazing addition. I’m so happy that Scottsdale is building some things like this for kids. It’s long overdue and so fantastic to have some of these incredible things right in our backyard. Wouldn’t you agree? Plus, if you can, I would snag a Lifetime pass while you can! It’s expensive but is going to be worth it I think!
